How it works

Three steps, and none of them is making an account.

Most people are done in under two minutes, on the phone the message arrived on.

  1. Your provider sends you a code

A text, an email or a printed statement with your provider's name on it, and five characters at the end of the link.

  2. You see exactly what you owe

The amount left after every insurance payment and adjustment on record — not an estimate.

  3. You pay, or spread it out

The whole balance in one go, or monthly payments if your provider offers them. Confirmation is immediate.

What this is

A payment page, and nothing else.

Four answers for anyone who was not expecting a bill by text message.

Who you are paying

Your healthcare provider. They treated you, they worked out what you owe, and the money goes to them — their name is on the message, on the bill and on the payment. This page is run for them by Reclaimly, a company that handles billing for medical practices, which is why the name may be new to you.

Where the amount comes from

Your provider's billing system, after every insurance payment, discount and adjustment they have on record. We only display that figure — we cannot work it out, and we cannot change it. If it looks wrong, they are the ones who can fix it.

What this costs you

Nothing on top. You pay the amount on the screen and not a cent more: no fee for paying here, no card surcharge, and the whole of it goes to your provider.

How to check this is genuine

Look at the address before the first slash — it is always patient-payments.com. We will never ask you to send a card number, a Social Security number or a bank login by text, and we will never tell you that you have to pay today. If you would rather not tap a link at all, type the address in yourself and enter your code there.

Anything about the bill itself — a charge you do not recognise, an amount that looks wrong — goes to your provider, because they are the only ones who can change it. Anything about this page or the payment comes to us at info@reclaimly.com.

Text messages

What a real message looks like.

Your provider's messages are about your bill and nothing else. Hold your phone next to this one.

Who sends them
Your healthcare provider, through Patient Payments. Their name is in every message.
What they say
That you have a balance, that a payment is coming up, or that a card on a payment plan needs updating. Never your diagnosis, and never what you were seen for.
When they arrive
Only when there is something about your bill to tell you — a new balance, a payment coming up, or a card that needs replacing. There is no schedule and nothing you have to keep up with.

The full terms are on Text Message Terms, including what to do if you got a message meant for someone else.

Questions

What people ask before they pay.

Tap a question to open the answer.

I don't recognise this name. Why is it on my bill?

Because your provider hired a billing company to take payments for them, and that company is Reclaimly. Your relationship is with your provider — their name is on the message, on the bill and on the payment. Ours is only on this page and the policies. We are the till, not the doctor.

Where do I find my code?

At the end of the link your provider sent you — in a text message, an email, or occasionally on a printed statement. Five characters, letters and numbers. If you cannot find it, your provider can send a new one.

Do you charge me anything to pay here?

No. There is no fee for paying on this site. You pay the amount shown on the screen and nothing more, and the whole of it goes to your provider.

Is the amount right? It's more than I expected.

It comes from your provider's billing system, after every insurance payment, discount and adjustment on their record. An estimate given before a visit is a guess; this is the final figure. Choose "View my bill breakdown" to see where each dollar went, and if it still looks wrong, your provider is the one who can change it.

Can I pay over time?

If your provider offers a payment plan, yes. It splits the balance into monthly payments with no interest and no fees — you pay the same total either way.

What can I pay with?

A credit or debit card, an HSA or FSA card, a US bank account, or Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device supports them. You do not need an account or a password.
